Silver Lining

By the time the rejection letter comes, I'm totally appalled that I could ever have submitted those poems to an actual publication. They weren't finished! They weren't thought-out! They certainly weren't successful. A convenient adaptation! Defense mechanism!

Or else, progress and intent coming rapidly, all jumbled.
